Immigration services provided by Catholic Charities are by appointment only.  At this time, we do not accept walk-ins.  To schedule an appointment, you can contact us using the following ways:

  • Calling us – (317)236-1526
  • Come to our office. You can schedule an appointment but you will not be seen for a consultation on this day.
  • You can also click HERE and provide us with your information.

Catholic Charities charges a consultation fee of $40.00.  You will need to bring this to your consultation appointment.   The Initial fee of $40.00 applies to ALL PERSONS for whom we must determine eligibility.  If multiple people in your family are applying for an immigration benefit, the $40.00 will apply to each family member.

NOTE: If you have or had refugee or asylum status, please inform Catholic Charities at the time of scheduling your consultation appointment.

Procedures

At the initial appointment, an attorney or accredited representative will review your case to determine if you are eligible for the benefit being sought. If we determine that you are eligible and that our program can assist you, we will provide you with a list of required documents, required fees, and a questionnaire.  You will need to obtain ALL required documents and fees and complete the questionnaire.  This step MUST BE COMPLETED in order for Catholic Charities to open a case for you.

NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ALL DOCUMENTS REQUESTED OR THE QUESTIONNAIRE COMPLETELY FILLED OUT, CATHOLIC CHARITIES WILL NOT OPEN A CASE FOR YOU.

Once you have obtained all documents and fees and completed the questionnaire, you will need to contact Catholic Charities to schedule your next appointment.  At your second appointment, Catholic Charities will determine if everything is complete.  If not, Catholic Charities will ask you to complete the process and schedule another appointment.  If you do have everything, Catholic Charities will open a case for you.

Fees

If you are applying for an immigration benefit which goes beyond a consultation, Catholic Charities charges additional fees.  All of our fees are listed on our fee schedule.  Please ask a staff member for a copy.  Catholic Charities does have a sliding fee scale which is determined by your household income.  If you feel that you cannot pay the full amount, it is a good idea to bring to your appointment your most recent Federal Tax Return.

Time Expectations

We understand that your process can be very time consuming and stressful.  We also understand that you want to file your application as quickly as possible.  Please know that we will do everything to move the process along as quickly as possible.  However, we are committed to doing the BEST job we can as well.  Sometimes this means that the process will take longer than you may expect it to because we are being thorough.  If you have questions or concerns as to why your case is taking the time it is, you are free to ask us.  We will make every effort to update you on the status of your case.  But please be patient and considerate.
