Divorce and Beyond

A Catholic based peer-ministry support group designed to help guide men and women through the process of divorce. For information on hosting a program at your parish please contact Deb VanVelse at 317-236-1586 or 1-800-382-9836, ext. 1586 or e-mail.
Holiday Divorce Support – Wednesdays, November 8 – December 20
St. Mark Catholic Church, 535 East Edgewood Avenue, Indianapolis 46227 will host a holiday session of Divorce and Beyond for six consecutive Wednesday evenings 7:00-9:00 p.m. The support group explores the stress, anger, blame and guilt of divorce with the goal of leading participants toward ultimate forgiveness, happiness and growth. This holiday session offers all separated and divorced an opportunity to be with others who understand the challenges of facing holidays after divorce. All faiths are welcome.

If the Indianapolis Archdiocese does not have a group in session, there are other opportunities for support.
Pathways to Healing, a Catholic Divorce Support Program, sponsored by the Lafayette Diocese is held at St. Theodore Guerin High School at different times throughout the year. For more information call Deacon Paul Lunsford at 317-514-5421. 
Divorce Care is a Christian based divorce support program. It is offered consistently throughout the United States. Most likely there is a group near you. Website

 

 

Annulment Information and Support

ANNULMENT SUPPORT GROUP
Fr. Paul Koetter, pastor at Holy Spirit, Indianapolis, and two Field Associates of the Tribunal meet six times per year at various locations. This is an ongoing group open to everyone in the Indianapolis Archdiocese seeking an annulment. If you need help getting started or have questions after filing, this group offers ongoing support and the opportunity to have your questions answered. For meeting dates or more information, please e-mail Fr. Paul.
 
ANNUAL ANNULMENT INFORMATION MEETING - Offered each Fall Season
A general information session regarding the annulment process was held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. 
This interactive meeting is designed to answer your questions.  Presenters include Fr. Joseph Newton, Judicial Vicar, Joe Gehret, Advocate, and Judge Instructors Ann Tully and Nancy Thompson.
Why is an annulment necessary? What are the grounds for an annulment? What are the procedures?
The evening is hosted by the Catholic Center, 1400 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in Assembly Hall.  There is no cost and registration is not required.

Annual Reunion for All Past Divorce Support Participants

This informal, no-agenda, gathering offers an opportunity to reunite with friends you have met through divorce ministry and to meet others, who have been through a program.   God blesses us in our recovery journeys; sometimes those blessings come to us in the friendships we make. If you know someone who needs support in divorce recovery, please invite him or her to join us.

BEING AND BELONGING annual retreat

A Weekend Retreat for Separated and Divorced Catholics
An annual retreat open to all faiths held at Fatima Retreat House, 5353 E. 56th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a participant, you are invited to relax as you journey with others, listening to their stories and exploring a common loss. The program will help deepen your understanding of the healing process and increase your sense of belonging as well as help you discover and affirm that God is with you in your struggles and in your hope.
