Images from Fatima Retreat HouseRETREAT
So many, many places,
So many, many moments
On the go,
How could I not say "Yes" to the bench that beckons,
"Sit and rest awhile,"
To the sky whose wide open arms inspire me to dream,
To the million rustling leaves waving,
"Be free,"
And to the God whispering,
"I love you.
Won't you spend time with me?"
How could I not say "Yes"
To a place, to moments,
Like this?

FAITH-FILLED RESPONSES TO SUFFERING

with Fr. Jeff Godecker

There is so much suffering in the world:  in our own lives and in the lives of our family members, and our friends and their families. What is a faith filled response to suffering? How do we console and help? Is our suffering connected in any way to the suffering on the cross? What did Jesus mean when he said, “You must take up your cross if you want to follow me”? How do our parishes and faith communities respond and become field hospitals as Pope Francis suggests? Fr. Jeff Godecker will offer two reflections out of his own experience, the experiences of others and his reading and research within the Scriptures and literature. A light dinner of soup and bread will follow.

Registration is required Suggested Donation $10

Day of Reflection - 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.Jesus watching

I CHOOSE YOU, LORD!

with Fr. John McCaslin and Mary Schaffner

All of us face decisions in our life. As Christians, we believe our choices are a reflection of our one choice of God. We face large decisions: schooling, career, work, state of life, relationships, and commitments. Every day we face smaller decisions about our priorities and goals, how we spend our time, how to be good stewards of our relationships, what to pay attention to and what to put off for another day. How can we be better aided to make these choices? How do we weigh competing alternatives? How do we know what God is asking of us? With Ignatian spirituality as the backdrop, this day of reflection will offer a framework to sift through some of these questions in light of our choice of God.

GOING THE EXTRA MILE -

EMBRACING SACRIFICIAL LOVE

With Father Jim Farrell

Maxmilliam Kolbe, St. Therese of the infant Jesus, St. Gianna Beretta Molla and countless others have embraced sacrificial love and in doing so have given extraordinary witness to the reality of God’s love in their lives. But today we also see this profound expression of love in parents and in the spouse who lovingly cares for his/her beloved. Come and join Father Jim as we reflect on the generous outpouring of love that is revealed in the lives of those all around us. How does another’s witness encourage us or challenge us to love more deeply all those we profess to “love with all our heart”.

Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend

A weekend of discovery; A lifetime of love!

This could be THE weekend for the two of you to explore, rediscover, and reconnect. Worldwide Marriage Encounter is a weekend getaway that helps married couples rediscover themselves as individuals and as a couple. The weekend is God-centered and comes out of the roots of the Christian faith. Our Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekends are presented in the Roman Catholic faith expression, however we welcome couples of all faith traditions to join us!

Guided by a team of volunteer couples and a priest, each participant explores their relationship with each other, their spouse and their family. The weekend format helps couples communicate openly and honestly, without any group sharing, therapy or marriage counseling. These weekends take place across the country and in 90+ countries and are hosted here in Indianapolis at Fatima Retreat House twice per year in May and November.

For more information or to register, contact Jill and Mark Levine at (317) 888-1892 or visit www.wwme.org.
