The 40-page souvenir issue of our archdiocesan newspaper, The Criterion, is filled with photos from the archbishop's life, including his childhood in Jasper, Ind., and his early years of ministry as a monk at Saint Meinrad Archabbey. Many stories were included, as were ads welcoming him back to the state. A general history of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, its major dates and former bishops, was also included.

The 16-page special section included many photos and news stories meant to honor Archbishop Buechlein on his 15th anniversary of being a bishop and his 10th anniversary of being the archbishop of Indianapolis. The news content looked back on his years as a bishop and the imact he made.
