Archbishop Buechlein’s cancer is in remission
The archbishop shares his progress in a letter: "Both the oncologist and the radiologist are confident that I am in full remission. Now it remains for me to regain my strength and energy during the summer and to allow time to overcome other side effects of the treatments. I trust that I will be able to resume my regular routine in August." (Page 1)

So you can understand why 16-year-old Samantha Peszek will follow her usual ritual of saying a prayer before she begins competing in the women’s finals of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Philadelphia on June 20 and 22. An occasional bird call broke the stillness on the scenic grounds near a small stone hermitage as Sister Jean Alice talked about the emotional days ahead for the nuns, who are busy packing most of the community’s belongings."
