Fish frys are a combination of
faith, food, fun and fundraising
The parish fish fry in your area is a trend that is hooking Catholics from Indianapolis to Tell City and from Batesville to Terre Haute. Many parishes have hosted such Lenten events for years. With this story, take a tour of some parishes throughout the archdiocese to see how different people conduct this Friday tradition. (Page 1 – front page)

Fifth annual Indiana Women’s Catholic Conference set for March 15
Two nationally known pro-life advocates are among the speakers for “Treasuring Womanhood,” the fifth annual Indiana Catholic Women’s Conference, on March 15 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. “A Woman Clothed in Truth, Star of Hope” is the Marian theme for this year’s conference, which begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 4:45 p.m. Patricia Pitkus Bainbridge, director of the Respect Life Office in the Diocese of Rockford, Ill., and Erika Bachiochi of Boston, a Catholic theologian and lawyer, are among the keynote presenters. Hundreds of archdiocesan Scouts receive religious awards
Msgr. Joseph F. Schaedel, vicar general, presided at the annual religious emblems ceremony for more than 300 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. They were honored during a special ceremony on Feb. 17 at SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis. Although Archbishop Buechlein was not able to attend, Msgr. Schaedel said the archbishop—an Eagle Scout himself—was thinking about and praying for the Scouts. (Page 16 – back page)

Lenten resources
Each year, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis provides special Lenten resources – the daily readings, archbishop’s columns, Stations of the Cross and links of interest – on a site located on our server (www.archindy.org/lent). We encourage you to share this link with your parish, most particularly because it also includes the full listing of penance schedules from around the archdiocese.
