Leaving Jerusalem

I do not know where I am going
I do not know where I am from
Moving away from God is my undoing
Leaving Jerusalem is leaving the Church.

Every day is a small step that I take
Away from God as I carelessly stray
Moving also away from Jesus His son
Leaving Jerusalem is leaving the Church

Returning to Jerusalem I wend my way
I return with humility and newfound wisdom
In search of the gift God gave me at birth
Leaving Jerusalem is leaving the Church.
