My Journey to God

Centennial Mass

As if to confirm the rightness
Of these festive goings-on,
The sun burst forth through colored glass,
In streams brilliant and solid,
As the faithful here gathered
To celebrate a century of service.

Sweet with memory,
Ripe with promise,
Joyful in hope,
They prayed and thanked their Lord
Who, in light bounteous
And beautiful to behold,
Bestowed His blessing.
