Programs - Supported living

Supported livingSt. Elizabeth--Catholic Charities Supported Living Program offers a lifeline for developmentally disabled adult client to reach out during emergencies, financial hardships, illness, or when they just need support. Supported Living supervisors lovingly serve developmentally disabled individuals and we are different because we are a small agency with a ratio of one staff for every two consumers. We are their mentors, teachers, and cheerleaders. Some of our clients receive little or no contact or support from their family members. These services provide hope for those individuals to live independently in the community instead of in facilitated group homes. Our program also offers hope to family members of disabled individuals with daily life supports so they can work and their loved one can develop basic daily living skills to prepare for independent or group living when family members are aged, ill, or deceased.

Our program advocates for the clients it serves to receive services based on their level of need and expectation of a persoanlly fulfilling day.  We serve clients with goal areas to lead safe, healthy, active lives in the communities they call home.  Our clients are assisted, provided, or observed writing rent and utility bills, balancing monthly bank statements, menu planning, going to the grocery store, provided with transportation to medical appointments, learning how to get to work, homeownership, and insurance procurement just to name a few.  We offer 24-hour on-call, emergency support services.  Most importantly we preserve the dignity of the consumers we serve.
