Catholic Charities New AlbanyWHO Are we?

We are St. Elizabeth - Catholic Charities, an agency of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Do you have to be Catholic to receive services? No! In fact only 25% of our clients are Catholic. We provide services to the community without regard to race, gender, nationality, religious affiliation, or level of income. We are funded through a combination of Private Donations (30%), grants (25%), Fees for services (20%), Corporate contributions (15%), and Church (10%).

It is our goal to be this region's recognized leader in providing Christ-centered support to the diverse needs of all people in crisis through:

  • Compassionate delivery of unique services offered by the Agency itself;
  • Identification of and connection to the appropriate services offered by other community agencies; and
  • Promoting respect and understanding for all as we address the unmet needs of people in crisis.

WHAT is it we do?

If you will click on the "Programs" button at the top of this page you will see a list of our eight major programs. We address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our clients. We are a human service agency, which recognizes and has a deep and abiding respect for all life. We provide comfort and quality service to those in need and we endeavor to foster an attitude of self-sufficiency in each of our clients. We strive to resolve crisis situations and empower our clients to regain a certain measure of control and order in their life.
