Payroll Specialist

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis is seeking a Payroll Specialist for the office in downtown Indianapolis.

  • This is an in-office, full time position
  • 4-day work week with 35 hours per week
  • Pay range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing of bi-weekly payrolls
  • Assist business locations and employees with payroll related questions
  • Monitor general payroll inbox with responses, training and troubleshooting
  • General administrative support to the payroll team
  • Clerical tasks related to garnishments and employee verifications
  • Assist accounting staff with billing and general ledger questions
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Central Payroll Department

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Two to three years payroll experience
  • Experience with processing payrolls using Paylocity software is a plus
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with data entry
  • Great organization and communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office a must
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must comply with Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct
  • Completion of Child Safety Training required
  • Successful background screening required
  • Valid driver’s license
