Property Management Director

Overview:
The Archdiocese of Indianapolis is seeking a dedicated and experienced Property Management Director to oversee the maintenance and operations of multiple Archdiocesan properties. This role ensures safe, efficient, and welcoming environments for staff, clergy, and visitors across a diverse portfolio of facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise maintenance staff and external vendors to ensure optimal building performance and safety.
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee property management budgets, vendor contracts, and outsourced services.
- Supervise operations of the mail room, print center, and reception.
- Coordinate security operations and facility scheduling across sites.
- Administer asbestos awareness training and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate on capital projects, facility assessments, and long-term planning.
- Ensure adherence to Archdiocesan policies and professional standards.
Facilities Managed Include:
- Catholic Center
- SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral and Rectory
- Xavier Building
- Archbishop's Residence
- Bishop Simon Brute Seminary
- Fatima Retreat House
- CYO Facilities
- Additional properties as designated by the CFO
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Catholic Center Receptionist (FT)
- Mail Room & Print Center Staff (FT/PT)
- Maintenance Technicians (FT)
- Facility Maintenance Technicians at Brute Seminary, Fatima Retreat House, and CYO (FT)
- Outsourced Housekeeper (Archbishop's Residence)
- Outsourced Security and Janitorial Staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, property management, business, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and facility management software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background screening and child safety training.
Work Environment:
- Standard hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM (45-minute lunch).
- Occasional evening/weekend work required.
- Must be available for 24-hour emergency response as needed.
