Youth Minister (Part-Time)

Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Minister to lead the evangelization, faith formation, and discipleship of our middle and high school students. The Youth Minister will design, implement, and oversee dynamic ministry programs that engage youth in their Catholic faith, preparing them for sacraments and fostering a strong connection to the parish community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Host weekly youth group sessions that provide a welcoming, engaging environment for faith growth and sacramental preparation.
  • Plan and lead youth retreats, mission trips, and social outings focused on faith education and service.
  • Facilitate confirmation preparation classes from start to completion.
  • Develop comprehensive faith formation programs tailored to middle and high school students.
  • Recruit, train, and support youth and adult leaders in ministry activities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate retreats promoting spiritual growth and community building.
  • Promote youth participation through parish bulletin announcements and outreach in local schools.
  • Serve as a liaison between youth, parish ministries, and the broader parish community.
  • Attend parish staff meetings, Pastoral Council meetings, and Faith Formation Commission meetings.
  • Prepare monthly activity and fundraising reports for parish leadership.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Pastor, Director of Religious Education, and Faith Formation Commission.

Qualifications:

  • Practicing Catholic with strong knowledge of Church teachings and traditions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in religious studies, theology, ministry, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with middle and high school youth ministries.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of adolescent development and current youth issues.
  • Proficiency with social media and digital communication tools.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and child safety screening.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to manage digital communications, documentation, and ministry planning tools.
  • Work includes time in both office and parish settings, with moderate noise levels.
  • Requires standing or sitting for extended periods and moving around parish campus.
  • Must be available for evening and weekend ministry events.
