St. Susanna Catholic Church, located in Plainfield, IN, is seeking a part-time (15-20 hours per week) Coordinator of Children’s Faith Formation for PreK through fifth grade. This is an onsite role, requiring some evening and weekend hours.
The Coordinator of Children’s Faith Formation, under the direction and supervision of the pastor, coordinates and implements specific catechetical programs from early childhood through 5th grade. This responsibility is exercised in collaboration with parish staff members who share the responsibility for catechesis. 

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate specific parish catechetical programs for children as directed by the pastor.
  • Administer and oversee First Communion and First Reconciliation preparation programs.
  • Serve as the coordinator and resource for the Children’s Liturgy of the Word program.
  • Lead and manage the annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) program.
  • Organize and coordinate the Children’s Christmas Eve Mass pageant.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to ensure the efficient functioning of the Children’s Faith Formation program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise in catechesis content and methods to be an effective religious educator.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Manage multiple catechists effectively.
  • Handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Promote and support the Church’s mission.

Education, Training & Experience:

  • Earned Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Studies, Education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer Spanish bilingual skills, but they are not required.
