A Caring Place is currently searching for a dedicated and compassionate Assistant to join our team. This role, reporting directly to the Operations Director, is essential in providing daily care, comfort, safety, and health support to our participants.
Key responsibilities include assisting with activity programming, kitchen duties, and offering transportation services for frail elderly individuals with cognitive and physical impairments. The Assistant will also provide crucial support to ensure the overall well-being of participants as they attend A Caring Place Adult Day Services.

Essential Functions
- Ensure punctual arrival each day.
- Oversee the heating and serving of meals to participants on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
- Prepare afternoon snacks on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
- Conduct a comprehensive kitchen inventory every Thursday, including the pantry and freezer in the basement.
- Prepare materials and activities for participant craft sessions.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the efficient operation of A Caring Place, Adult Day Services.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and interest in working with seniors who have cognitive and physical impairments.
- Experience in general food preparation, meal service, documentation, and kitchen operations, along with a valid ServSafe certification.
- Experience and ability to respond effectively to cultural diversity.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to perform additional duties as needed to support and enhance service delivery.
- Commitment to supporting and promoting the Church's mission.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Adherence to the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct is required.
- Completion of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training is mandatory.
- A background check is required.
- A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office work setting
- Must be able to process and maintain documentation as requested by Operations Director
- Must be able to communicate with participants, staff, and other occupants of the building.
