Pentecost Concert: Featuring Religious Music from Around the World
The Pentecost Concert, presented by the Office of Multicultural Ministry and the Multicultural Ministry Commission, will take place on Sunday, May 20 at 3:00 pm at SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis. This Concert gives us a way to commemorate the fact that on Pentecost the Holy Spirit brought together people from a variety of languages and cultures where they all gave glory to God. In this Concert we are able to do the same thing, but in this case in music and song.
This year the music will be provided by the following groups: Holy Angels Gospel Choir, the Hispanic Choir from St. Bartholomew Parish in Columbus, IN, the Vietnamese Apostolate Choir, the African Catholic Ministry Choir, the Filipino Choir, and Caribbean Steel Drumming by Michael Joseph. The reason for the Concert being on May 20 (which is the Sunday before Pentecost) is because this year Pentecost Sunday is on the same day as the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race which makes it difficult to schedule anything on that day. The Concert is free and parking is available in the Catholic Center parking lot.
Next African Mass is June 3
The African Catholic Ministry of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis will hold their next African Mass on Sunday, June 3, at 3:00 pm at St. Rita Church in Indianapolis. At this Mass the congregation will be able to worship in the style and music representing the many countries of the African continent. All are welcome to come and participate in this Mass.
