Buechlein’s cell phone recently rang as he sat in his room in the infirmary at Saint Meinrad Archabbey in St. Meinrad while reflecting on his 50 years of priestly life and ministry. He has lived there since September 2011 when he retired after 19 years of leading the Church in central and southern Indiana. Like so many people who call him, the woman asked for his prayers. Archbishop Buechlein promised to pray for her. (Page 1)
