Museum continues to preserve Cardinal Ritter’s legacy

Cardinal Ritter museumNEW ALBANY—A crowd of about 100 people gathered at the Cardinal Ritter Home in New Albany on March 14 to hear a lecture on liturgical renewal, view the newly renovated museum, enjoy Irish coffee, and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council. “Cardinal Ritter wasn’t the greatest intellectual at the council,” O’Malley said, “but it seemed he knew how to work with others better than most.” (Page 16)

Photos and audio: Archdiocesan chrism Mass

Blessing oils at chrism MassCelebrated annually during Holy Week, the chrism Mass is the occasion when holy oils used in the sacraments are blessed and priests ministering in the archdiocese renew their ordination promises. Representatives from parishes and religious communities across central and southern Indiana receive the oils during the Mass then take them back to their faith communities. See photos from the event or get audio of Archbishop Tobin's homily.
