‘So much more hope...’: First-time participants moved by their March for Life experience

March for LifeThe archdiocesan Young Adult and College Campus Ministry led a group of 50 participants on a pilgrimage to the March for Life in Washington on Jan. 25. For some, it was their first experience on a March for Life pilgrimage, which commemorates the anniversary of the devastating 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion. This story shares the experiences of first-time pilgrims Rikki Enzor, 26, a third-year medical student, and Dave Bibb, 70, a retired teacher. (Page 1)

Archbishop Tobin celebrates Masses in Bloomington and New Albany deaneries

Archbishop Tobin greeting a manArchbishop Joseph Tobin continued his tour of the archdiocese by celebrating Masses in both the Bloomington and New Albany deaneries: he was at St. Mary-of-the-Knobs Church in Floyd County on Jan. 29 and at St. John the Apostle Church in Bloomington on Jan. 31. “I thought that Hoosier hospitality was just a bumper sticker,” he said at one of the Masses, “but it’s the real thing.” Archbishop Tobin was installed as the sixth archbishop of Indianapolis on Dec. 3 and is continuing to make visits to different areas of the archdiocese. Photos: Renovated seminary chapel a ‘study hall’ in which to seek ‘wisdom and light’

Chapel dedicationBishop Simon Bruté College Seminary moved in 2008 to the former Carmelite Monastery of the Resurrection, about a mile south of Marian University, where seminarians still take classes. Because of the growth of the seminary, its chapel, which had a seating capacity of 40 people, was renovated last summer. It can now seat 80 people. Archbishop Joseph W. Tobin blessed the renovated chapel during a Jan. 28 Mass at the seminary.
