Pre-Cana Retreat Dates for 2020

How much is registration?

Registration for Pre-Cana fall retreats is $135 which covers both the Bride and Groom, including materials, morning coffee and a boxed lunch.

What safety precautions are you taking in light of Covid-19?

We are following the health orders of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, the Governor of Indiana, and the Mayor of Indianapolis (for retreats held in Marion county). A bride and groom will sit together, but we will be keeping a social distance of at least 6 feet between couples at the retreat. Lunches will be boxed and eaten while keeping social distance, outside when the weather allows. Spaces will be sanitized before and after the retreat. Please bring hand sanitizer, a face covering, a pen, and a refillable water bottle or tumbler for your personal use.

What if I can't make these retreat dates or the retreats are full?

There are online retreat options that may be a good fit. The priest (or delegate) in charge of marriage preparation for the couple should contact our office to get more information.

For parish leaders, here is the list of approved marriage preparation options in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Please contact our office to discuss.

Two other live retreats are offered in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis that are not run by our office but are good options. Links are provided below.

Will you be adding more retreat dates?

Yes. We are already planning our 2021 retreat schedule starting in January. Once details are confirmed, registration will go live on this website. We will not be adding any more 2020 dates after the November retreat.

Rescheduling Retreat Dates

If you registered for a Pre-Cana Retreat and can no longer attend on that date, you can re-schedule to attend a future retreat by contacting our office. We cannot guarantee a spot in the next retreat but we will do our best to accomodate your request, depending on attendance capacity. There is a $20 rescheduling fee.

If your retreat was cancelled due to Covid-19, your registration was refunded and you must register again. You will not be charged the rescheduling fee.

Do I have what it takes to create a joy-filled, lifelong marriage?

If you have found this page, you are probably looking to get married in the Church. We are so happy to have you, and we congratulate you on your decision!

Being married in the Church is no small thing; it may seem like so much is being asked of you with a marriage prep retreat, meeting with a priest, planning your wedding, and not to mention planning your future together…

Here’s the honest truth:  The Catholic Church wants your marriage to be FULL OF JOY and LAST A LIFETIME.

The question is, do you?

Offered by the Office of Marriage and Family Life, the Pre-Cana retreat is a one-day retreat for engaged couples to listen, discuss, and plan how to form and maintain a marriage that withstands the test of time and satisfies the desires the heart.

Does God really have a plan for my marriage?

Many couples do not realize that God has a plan for what marriage should be and that following God’s plan for marriage is the way to a lifetime of marital bliss.

Utilizing Ascension Press’ Joy-Filled Marriage Program and led by married couples, priests, and professionals, the Pre-Cana retreat instructs engaged couples on the theology of marriage, the Catholic Church’s teachings on human sexuality, and the practical life skills and virtues necessary to fortify their marriage. By engaging in these topics, couples will have a greater understanding of the Church’s teachings on marriage and how living out God’s plan for marriage is the KEY to a joy-filled marriage.

Are you ready to go deeper?
