The Director of Mission and Outreach (DMO) assists the pastor in growing the parish by reaching out to the unchurched and alienated within the parish boundaries. This person of faith is a pastoral leader and community builder who helps enliven all parish ministries with a spirit of hospitality, welcome, and intentional discipleship. The DMO encourages practicing Catholics to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and live out the Great Commission to “go and make disciples.”

The DMO provides leadership and administration in key areas of parish life, including:

  • Evangelization: Leads the parish Evangelization Team, develops outreach strategies, and coordinates efforts to engage parishioners, school families, and the broader community.
  • OCIA Inquiry & Pre-Catechumenate: Hosts informal gatherings for those exploring the Catholic faith, introduces basic Catholic teachings, and fosters connections with the parish community.
  • Welcome & Integration: Develops communication and accompaniment strategies for new parishioners and OCIA neophytes, helping them become active members of the parish.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Connects parishioners with ministry opportunities, facilitates training, and supports parish-wide service initiatives and mission trips.
  • Pastoral Care: Coordinates care and Communion visits to the homebound and those in nursing care facilities, and supports the BeFriender Ministry.
  • Community Building: Supports the formation and growth of Root Groups and collaborates with ministries such as In Heaven’s Eyes and St. Vincent de Paul.

The ideal candidate is a practicing Catholic with a strong personal faith, a love for the Church, and a desire to build community through relational ministry and outreach. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills are essential.
