Tobit Marriage Preparation Weekends

The Tobit Marriage Preparation Weekend was designed and started in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis in 1976 by Fr. Martin Wolter and a team of married couples dedicated to the ministry of marriage preparation. Since then over 8,000 couples have participated in the program in Indianapolis, and today, weekends continue to be booked months in advance.

This weekend offers time away from the tensions and demands of daily life to relax in a place of beauty and peacefulness. It gives couples a unique opportunity to grow in the knowledge and love of one another while focusing on couple communication in all aspects of the marriage relationship. The program focuses on entering into a deeper personal relationship with Christ and the importance of having Him at the center of your marriage.

Register as early as possible, weekends fill up quickly!

Taken directly from TOBIT weekend retreat surveys:

  • "I'd like to thank the volunteer couples for their generosity...it's rare to see couples in long-term successful healthy relationships. Your sense of humor and general warmth was really an inspiration...you can rest assured that you have contributed to our happiness!"
  • "The entire experience was very enriching and nourishing for both of us to take the time together and shut out the rest of the world for a while, and the topics covered helped us become even closer & more open than before."
  • "[I enjoyed] ...the stories of the group leaders. I loved the insight of Fr, Jim and Fr. Keith."
  • "The team couples were so honest and open. As a non-Catholic, I was very timid and anxious about coming, but I was made comfortable from the minute I walked in."
