Bread for the Journey

Bread for the journey,
Our pilgrimage through life,
Is the Eucharist,
Jesus come down from heaven,
To give us life!

Jesus alone sustains us,
In our trials through life,
Through the valleys and hills,
Through the struggles and joys,
The Eucharist gives us life!

To continue the journey,
The Israelites ate manna,
David the blessed bread,
Elijah ate the hearth cake,
And Jesus gives us life!
