My Journey to God

The Good Shepherd

Lord, you came to save me from my sins.
The sins of my soul,
the sins of the devil,
the original sin in which I had no control.

You saved me when I was lost,
you saved me from being vain.
You saved me when I was too weak
to call out your name.

You had a plan for my life,
even from the beginning.
You knew what you were going to have to do
to keep the Devil from winning.

You paid the debt of my sin,
the debt I could not pay,
the debt of deceit,
and the debt of going astray.

You left the ninety-nine,
to find my lost and weary soul.
You picked me up, you held me tight,
and carried me home.

With you now I will always be,
whether here on Earth,
or in heaven
where I long to be.

Thank you for protecting my soul,
even when I did not.
And filling me with your love,
for it was me, your child, that you sought.
