Monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey from Indy ordained a priest on Aug. 30

Benedictine Father Lorenzo Penalosa, a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey in St. Meinrad, was ordained a priest on Aug. 30 in the monastic community’s Archabbey Church of Our Lady of Einsiedeln.

Born in the Philippines, Father Lorenzo, 29, grew up in Indianapolis as a member of St. Joseph Paris. He was previously an archdiocesan seminarian and is a graduate of Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary and Marian University, both in Indianapolis.

He graduated in 2017 from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in St. Meinrad with a master of divinity degree and a baccalaureate in sacred theology, and is currently pursuing graduate studies at the Pontifical Liturgical Institute of Sant’ Anselmo in Rome. †
