My Journey to God

I TURNED AWAY

The sky spat snow in my face today

As I thought warmly of spring,

Of pastel hues of yellow and green

That the gentle rains bring.

My gaze returned to the monochrome gray

Whose beauty I almost missed

By turning away from what is today

To things which as yet don’t exist.
