Sisters of Providence announce Christmas season liturgies

The Sisters of Providence will offer a Christmas prayer service and Masses that are open to the public on Monday, Dec. 24, and Tuesday, Dec. 25.

The Christmas Vigil and Christmas Day liturgy will be held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

Liturgies are open to people of all faith traditions.

Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 24.

The one-hour Christmas Vigil will begin at 7 p.m. on Dec. 24. At that time, the sisters and wider community will gather for a reflective prayer service with Scripture readings, prayers, instrumental carols, the singing of carols and candle lighting.

The Christmas Mass will start at 11 a.m. on Dec. 25. A prelude of instrumental carols and singing will begin at 10:45 a.m.

On Sunday, Dec. 30, the sisters will celebrate the feast of the Holy Family with Mass at 11 a.m.

On New Year’s Day—the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God—Mass will begin at 11 a.m.

The Mass celebrating the Epiphany of the Lord will begin at 11 a.m. on Jan. 6. †
