My Journey to God

I Am the Clay, You Are the Potter

I am the clay and you are the potter.
Take me and shape me and make me, O’ God,
For I am the clay and you are the potter.
From the womb before I was born you knew me,
My life was pre-destined by you as the vintner.

I am the clay and you are the potter.
Give me the strength to accept what you send,
Shaped in your image although I was weak,
I was lost in my pride and my
self-centered ego,
Molded on the outside but hollow on the inside.

I am the clay and you are the potter.
Shape me and mold me and teach me humility,
Scrape away all the arrogant ways that I have,
Help me search deep inside for weakness and greed,
You can do all things, for you are the master potter.

I am the clay and you are the potter.
Give me eyes with the vision to see what I can be,
To live up to be the best possible version of myself,
The version that you have preordained me to be,
That I can humbly start on the journey to you.
