My Crocheted Prayer

Chain one, chain two,
Yarn over, pull through.
Please, God,
Grant us peace.

Chain three, chain four,
Stitching as my spirit soars.
Please, God,
Grant us peace.

Chain five, chain six,
Prayer between and prayer betwixt.
Please, God,
Grant us peace.

Chain seven, chain eight,
Entreaty seeks to emulate.
Please, God,
Grant us peace.

Chain nine, chain ten,
Petitioning until the end.
Please, God,
Grant us peace.

Back and forth, to and fro,
The prayer ascending as I go.
Please, God,
Grant us peace …
Grant us peace.
