My Journey to God

The Painter’s Brush

As I pull out of the garage
and look to my side,
there before my eyes
is a red berry tree
with dewdrops clinging gently.

I drive further along
and continue to see a picture of beauty before me.
A crimson, a gold, a yellow, a brown
line the sky like a crown.

The beauty and skill of an artist’s brush
could never replicate this much;
the fusion of color that brings delight
in that first morning light.

But there is an artist, a master of all,
who creates this beauty that stirs our souls.
He is our God, our Lord, our Creator.
He is the artist who paints our lives.

If we give Him the canvas,
He will give us the paint,
and with His guidance we will create
a life that honors Our Savior, Our King,
which will bring delight to all living things.
