My Journey to God

A Little Nod

She bows her head …
A little nod
Acknowledges
The Triune God.

Spirit filled
Her movements swell
With nascent strength
To do his will

To bend her knees
As in the past
Reverenced as
A holy task.

And yet the years
Exact their toll
And as the seasons
Ebb and flow

This prayerful act
Once done with grace
Vanishes
Without a trace,

And in its stead
A little nod
Acknowledges
The Triune God.
