My Journey to God

Advent

In this winter weariness
that fills the dark
of night
and waits
for whatever is to come,
I look to You,
Oh Lord,
and know that love
is still the light
of your redeeming plan.

It is the yearning
of my heart
that gives me strength
and hope
and quiet peace
until the dawning
of Emmanuel.

The feast of the Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8 commemorates the Church dogma that Mary was free from original sin from the first moment of her existence.)
