General Announcements
‘St. Jacinta of Fatima: A Prophetess of Our Times’ retreat will be held in Bloomington on June 13-15
A retreat titled ‘St. Jacinta of Fatima: A Prophetess of Our Times’ will be held at Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center, 8220 W. State Road 48, in Bloomington, on June 13-15.
Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate Father Jacinto Chapin will share about the life of this young saint, one of three children to whom the Blessed Mother appeared in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917.
St. Jacinta was only 9 years old when she died in 1920. But her holiness and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to the rosary are an example for all Catholics. St. Jacinta modeled generosity in prayer, self-sacrifice for the conversion of sinners and love for the pope—all in light of the revelations of Our Lady of Fatima.
The cost is $241 for a room with one bed, $302.90 a room with two beds, $368 for a room with three beds and $433.12 for a room with four beds. The price includes four meals and lodging for two nights.
For those who wish to commute, the cost is $50.70, which includes lunch and dinner on Saturday.
For more information or to register, call 812-825-4642, ext. 1, or go to motheroftheredeemer.com.
Fatima Retreat House will offer ‘Flourishing in Seasons of Surrender’ retreat on May 31-June 1
A “Flourishing in Seasons of Surrender” retreat will be offered at Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House, 5353 E. 56th St., in Indianapolis, from 11 a.m. on May 31 through noon on June 1.
Life is full of seasons of surrender—transitional times of moving away from something familiar and comfortable into a space of unfamiliarity and discomfort. These times of surrender are sometimes self-chosen. But often circumstances beyond our control impose this space of surrender upon us, and we must yield to what is happening around us, to us and within us.
Experienced spiritual director Teresa Venatta will guide retreatants into deeper exploration and reflection on those “letting go seasons” as times of discovery—of self, others and God—that lead to real growth and intimacy with God.
The cost is $175, which includes overnight lodging in a private room with a shared bath, as well as lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. The retreat will conclude at noon on Sunday after Mass.
For more information or to register, go to ftm.retreatportal.com/events, call 317-545-7681 or email lcoons@archindy.org.
