Programs -- Christmas Store

1440 Locust St., Terre Haute, IN

The Annual Free Christmas Store in Terre Haute is co-sponsored by Catholic Charities in Terre Haute and the numerous volunteers and donors who support our mission to serve those most in need.

The purpose of this seasonal project is to ensure that families in financial need will have Christmas gifts like clothing, household items, or personal hygiene products for each member of their family. The need may arise from unemployment, illness, the pinch of inflationary prices on fixed income, or simply not enough to cover "extras" like Christmas gifts.

The Christmas Store is open after Thanksgiving. Opening this early ensures participants will have gifts for each member of their family and time to wrap the gifts to have them under the tree before Christmas Eve. Families that "shop" at the Christmas Store are contacted by their parish pastors, community agency or school and are given a referral form. Hundreds of families and thousands of individuals have a merrier Christmas as a result of this united effort.

Families participating in the Christmas Store program must have a referral form with designated appointment time.
