Communications & Marketing Manager

Christ the King Catholic Church is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Communications & Marketing Manager. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the mission and vision of the parish. In collaboration with the pastor and staff, the Communications & Marketing Manager will promote the parish’s ministries, programs, and events to the parish community, diocese, and the broader public through a range of communication channels.

The ideal candidate will be mission-focused, possess a strong creative vision for digital design, have expertise in producing engaging media and marketing content, and demonstrate adaptability within the dynamic environment of parish life.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage parish communications directed toward parishioners, visitors, and local entities.
  • Further Christ the King’s mission and vision by promoting the ministries, programs and events to the parish, diocese, and greater Indianapolis community.
  • Develop and execute a robust digital and print communications strategy via the parish website, weekly bulletin, social media, email, and other means as necessary.
  • Edit and post daily/weekly content as necessary on the parish website and social media pages.
  • Design compelling graphics and signage to inform members of our community about parish events, programs, and liturgical celebrations.
  • Engage and manage necessary relationships outside of the Christ the King community with other churches and civic organizations.
  • Design and manage all parish email marketing campaigns including the weekly email newsletter, annual parish guidebook, ministry updates, and other projects as needs arise.
  • Discern and delegate certain tasks and responsibilities of the communications plan to competent individuals within a communications team.
  • Be flexible to adapt to new technologies and communication resources as they become available.
  • Develop relationships with the different ministries and entities of the parish to communicate the life of the parish intentionally and effectively to the universal congregation as appropriate.

Be responsible for additional office tasks, not directly related to Communications & Marketing, on a monthly or yearly basis.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or social media management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Canva.
  • Design expertise in creating compelling graphic content and copy.
  • Willingness to foster the Church's mission and actively contribute to the mission.
  • Positive role model with the ability to maintain a consistent and professional demeanor.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Decision-making skills and follow-through on commitments.
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
  • Independence and professionalism, able to work with minimal direction and exercise sound judgment.
  • Willingness to support and fill in for other staff members as needed.
  • Compliance with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct.
  • Completion of Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training.
  • Background screening required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
