UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

My heart sings with joy when I think of you,
My glorious God above,
Overcome by the power and tenderness
Of your all-embracing love.

I can’t comprehend how such perfectness
Deigns to love even me,
A sinner fueled by selfishness,
Anger, fear, and greed.

But this unconditional love of God
Bathes me in its light,
And breaks the chains that sin has forged
With all its power and might.
