Archdiocesan Youth Rally 2008
Greetings in the Lord,
I pray that all is well in your ministry to the young people in our Archdiocese. We are busy preparing for the annual Archdiocesan High School Youth Rally which is scheduled for March 1-2, 2008 in keeping with our Archdiocesan tradition of offering lively and faith-filled rallies for the high school youth to attend! (Download registration forms below)
As you might recall, in 2004 the Rally was dedicated to Jesus Christ; in 2005 to God the Father; in 2006 to the Holy Spirit and in 2007 it was focused on the Saints and the Body of Christ; and for 2008 our theme is simply “INFINITE” emphasizing God’s infinite love and mercy.
We are very excited to announce that our keynote speaker is Steve Angrisano! Those of you who attended the 2007 National Youth Conference in Columbus, Ohio will recognize Steve as the MC (Master of Ceremonies) for the conference Moreover, Steve Angrisano is recognized as one of the most dynamic and effective communicators with Christian youth in the country. A singer, songwriter and storyteller, Steve creates relevant, dynamic music for liturgy and listening, proclaiming that through Christ we have the power to carry out God’s work. What he shares, both in story and song, is a witness of the love and life of Jesus.
In addition to this dynamic keynote speaker, the rally will offer events similar as previous years. It is being hosted at Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis, IN in the North Deanery. A Saturday night component is offered to assist with those who have to travel long distances to arrive at the rally the prior evening to avoid an early morning departure time on Sunday. The Saturday night event is a social and faith-filled event which allows for the youth to have fun and get ready for an amazing day on Sunday. Moreover, everyone is invited to participate in this Saturday evening event!
The break-out sessions’ topics this year are new and are very relevant. The Archdiocesan Youth Council selected the topics. Be assured that the Adult Steering Committee will be working with the speakers to ensure that a solid presentation will be given to the youth. Since group leaders cannot attend every session, packets will be provided at the rally for adult leaders with a summary, outline and other facts and stats that were presented in each session. These packets will be of assistance to you for further questions and group discussions.
In closing, the rally will be ending at 5:30pm on Sunday evening. Hopefully, this will allow for ample travel time back home prior to school the next morning. Thus, dinner will NOT be provided on Sunday evening. We look forward to celebrating our faith with your youth and please contact our office with any questions or concerns.
In His Priesthood,
