Archdiocesan Youth Council (AYC)

Youth council meeting from 2003What is AYC?

AYC, Archdiocesan Youth Council, is a group of high school students from all over the Archdiocese of Indianapolis who come together to plan Catholic youth events for junior high and high school students.  We are the connection between the deaneries and the office of young adult ministries. We encourage participation of the youth in Archdiocesan activities as well as more participation in their own parishes. We work to grow as leaders and strive to strengthen and excite youth in their faith.

What Events Does AYC plan?

AYC plays a huge role in planning and coordinating the high school and middle school youth rallies.  Before the National Catholic Youth Conferences, AYC plans prayer services and picks the theme.  We have also assisted with the Consumed retreats by planning skits and prayers.  Once a year we put together a collection of articles and pictures called the “youth supplement” for The Criterion newspaper, which we send in hopes of catching the interest of youth around the archdiocese.
