My name is Andy Proctor. My home town is Greenwood, Indiana and I attend the parish Our Lady of the Greenwood, Queen of the Holy Rosary.

My family has eight people. There are my mother and father with six children. The order is my brother, me, two sisters, and two younger brothers.  My family is pretty devout so priesthood was always a possibility for me. I started Catholic school at St. Monica in Kindergarten. I went up to fourth grade then began home schooling. I, along with the rest of my siblings at that time, was home-schooled at the same time. This was a key aspect to my formation

I was also a Cub Scout and finished through Eagle Scout. This helped me to learn a respect for hard work and great achievements. I learned about respecting God, family and country. I also learned a love for camping and the outdoors in general.

The thing that led me to the seminary was the beautiful example of my parents. I believe that their fidelity to the church and each other has had a profound role in my decision to join the seminary. My decision to join the seminary was also due in large part to a calling that I felt at an early age and a search for God’s will after graduating high school.

The hobbies and activities that I have developed over my seminary experience that have influenced me to continue formation are reading (especially books that enrich my faith), adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, enriching my musical ability (piano and voice), good brotherly fraternity, and the opportunity to learn philosophy.
