Crisis pregnancy
If you find yourself in an unexpected pregnancy and need help, we can help you
If you are in the Indianapolis area please call Birthline at 317-635-4808 or the Gabriel Project at 1-877-734-2444 to receive help from an "angel."
WHAT IS BIRTHLINE?
Birthline is a service for pregnant women in crisis and young mothers who have recently given birth.
Through a network of volunteers, pregnant women experiencing crisis pregnancies receive immediate assistance on the telephone. Trained telephone counselors take the time to talk to the women and comfort them in their distress, while at the same time encouraging them to choose life for themselves and their unborn children.
The volunteers often refer the women to outside agencies that are able to help them cope with the financial, emotional, and spiritual issues that need to be addressed during a pregnancy.
Birthline volunteers also welcome new mothers who stand in need of material assistance. Layettes are prepared and distributed to these women in the Catholic Center on Mondays and Wednesdays by appointment only. Referrals are needed.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
You can help by collecting baby items that are in good condition and donating them to Birthline.
Perhaps you can help organize a collection in your church or place of employment for Birthline.
WHAT IS NEEDED?
Birthline can use just about anything that an infant needs, as long as it is in good condition!
Below is a list of possible items that can be donated:
All types of clothing for infants from birth through 2T.
Portable baby beds, strollers, car seats, diapers and formula.
MATERNITY CLOTHING of all sizes is needed!
Deliveries are made on Mondays and Wednesdays after calling Sister Diane at 317-236-1521.
Financial contributions are appreciated! Checks or money orders should be made out to the ARCHDIOCESE OF INDIANAPOLIS.

WHY SHOULD WE SUPPORT BIRTHLINE AND OTHER PRO-LIFE SERVICES?
We have been sent. For us, being at the service of life is not a boast but rather a duty born of our awareness of being “God’s own people, that we may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light” (cf. 1 Pt 2:9). On our journey we are guided and sustained by the law of love: a love which has as its source and model the Son of God made man, who “by dying gave life to the world.”

We care about you and your baby!
Birthline offers the alternative to abortion. It is staffed by trained volunteers and is free and confidential . Birthline is an outreach ministry for women and their babies that provides either directly, or makes referrals for, pregnancy testing, shelter homes, community resource information, medical counseling, legal counseling, educational counseling and many other resources depending upon your particular circumstance. Birthline also provides layettes and the other "necessities" needed for your baby.
The Gabriel Project of Indiana embraces women and their families in crisis pregnancies. As the Angel Gabriel brought the Good News of salvation to Mary, so, too, Gabriel Angels bring the good news of hope, love and caring to mothers-to-be. Trained volunteers called "Angels" offer spiritual guidance and emotional support as well as practical help when necessary. They counsel and encourage the mothers and drive them on errands or to pre-natal appointments.

Don't be pressured into an abortion. It's not the "easy solution."
