Program Format
Evaluation of Candidates
The criteria for selection and ongoing participation in the program are developed and applied at the diocesan level. Saint Meinrad faculty evaluates the academic performance of candidates in each course.
Attendance Requirements
Attendance is required for successful completion of all courses and workshops. In the event of an emergency requiring absence, the Archdiocesan Director and the instructor must be notified as soon as possible. To receive credit for a course, no more than two classes (7 hours) may be missed due to emergency. No more than 15% of the total meeting time may be missed to receive credit for attending a workshop.
ELM courses require 30 hours of class time and a written project to be completed within three weeks of the last day of class. Extensions must be made in writing and submitted and approved by the Archdiocesan Director. The student is responsible or forwarding a written copy of the approved extension to the instructor and the Saint Meinrad ELM coordinator prior to the deadline for turning in projects. ELM workshops range in length from approximately 7 to 20 hours.
