- NAMI* COURSES OFFERED TO CAREGIVERS OF ADULTS AND CHILDREN:
Do you have a loved one over 18 who battles depression, bi-polar disorder or some other serious emotional or mental disorder? Then *NAMI Indianapolis’s Family to Family education course can help you learn more about your role as care-giver, the illness, treatment options, medications, and how to better understand and advocate for your loved one. The 12- week course is offered at no charge, but requires pre-registration. Two convenient locations are offered: Thursdays, starting Sep. 18th, 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church, 381 North Bluff Road, Greenwood, OR Tuesdays, starting Sept. 23rd, 7 – 9:30 pm at First Mennonite Church, 4601 Knollton Rd. (near Michigan Rd. and 46th St.).
…OR, if you are the caregiver of a child under 18 who struggles with a serious emotional or mental disorder, the 6-week *NAMI Basics Course is designed for you. Learn from trained parents who have “been there” - illness symptoms, treatment options, and how to advocate for medical and educational services for your child. The course is offered at no charge and will meet on Sundays, October 19th – November 23rd, 1:00 to 3:30 p.m., Roberts Park United Methodist Church, 401 N. Delaware St. (at Vermont St.), Indianapolis.

The Office of Family Ministries and your local parish nurse encourage faith communities to spread the word that we can stop the spread of MRSA and other infections by simply practicing good hygiene. The following posters are free and can be copied and posted in appropriate areas, like public restrooms, gyms and locker rooms.
