Spring Break Mission Trip to Biloxi - 2006

This page is devoted to covering the 2006 Spring Break Mission Trip to Biloxi, Miss. -- a weeklong event that more than 100 youth from around the archdiocese will be participating in from April 1-8.

Click on the links immediately below to see the posts that were made during the trip. For those who are familiar with The Criterion Online Edition, the updating is similar to the blog that we ran
during World Youth Day 2005.

Criterion news story about the trip

Now you can get the news story that Katie Berger submitted to The Criterion about the Biloxi trip. It was published in the April 14 issue of the paper, which coincides with our Easter Supplement. The link for the story is below. Happy Easter!

Group picture with the archbishop

In the photo gallery below was a group shot of some of the youth and chaperones from the Biloxi trip who showed up for a special youth Mass with Archbishop Daniel M. Buechlein that was celebrated at Our Lady of the Greenwood Parish tonight.

If you click on the image to the right you'll get a medium to small sized image, and if you click below you'll get the full-sized image. And for those of you who don't know what Katie Berger looks like, she's actually in this picture in the lower left-hand side standing between Father Jonathan Meyer and one of our seminarians.

Mass with Archbishop Buechlein

Katie writes: "Tonight the Archbishop celebrated Mass at [Our Lady of the Greenwood Parish] for the monthly Young Adult Mass. Father Meyer invited those of us who went on the Biloxi trip to attend tonight and meet with the archbishop afterwards. It's pretty neat because Palm Sunday is supposed to be like a mini "World Youth Day" so the fact that the bishop was with youth and young adults was awesome."

And, of course, she sent pictures. Always on the job!

The archived pages

I've reversed the order of the blog entries from the trip itself and placed them on new pages so that they appear in chronological order (instead of the newest posts first). You can now read (or re-read) the posts as the trip unfolded:
