Archbishop Tobin talks about his passion for playing hockey

In Conversation with Archbishop Tobin logo“I’ve got all my gear. When I would come home for Christmas, I would play. It’s a great act of humility because your mind remembers what to do, but your body says, ‘Ah, forget it!’ I play right wing and a little defense, too. When I was ordained a [transitional] deacon, I had 40 stitches in my mouth. A guy whacked me in the mouth [during a hockey game]. I remember kneeling in front of this auxiliary bishop, and he was staring at me because of my stitches.” †
