My Journey to God

The Path

The narrow rock strewn path
Seems perilous and steep,
Bramble lined and
Choked with vines
To walk it is to weep.

Peripherally I see
A highway straight and true,
Though golden paved,
Its gentle grade
May not lead to you.

Which way do I go?
Help me, Lord, to choose,
The golden pass,
The rock strewn path.
Which way leads to you?

Let me walk the path,
That tangled tortured trail …
For I can see
Eternity
Beckoning through the Veil.
