Central Catholic School
Central Catholic School, located at 1155 E. Cameron Street, was founded in 1974. The school developed from the consolidation of grade schools consisting of Sacred Heart, St. Patrick, Holy Rosary, St. James, and St. Catherine parishes.
Originally there were three locations for the school. First grade through fifth grade were housed at St. Patrick and St. James. The junior high (grades 6-8) were located at St. Catherine.
After two years of managing the schools in this configuration, the St. Patrick students were relocated to St. James. In 1978, all grades came to be housed at the St. Catherine Parish site. In 1996, the school was relocated to Good Shepherd Parish, which was created out of the merger of St. James and St. Catherine parishes.
Central Catholic School mission: We, the Central Catholic community, provide our students and educational opportunity based on the foundations of excellence in education within the Catholic tradition. The uniqueness of our bond between staff and students grows as we model Christian values of love and service.
In the 2005-06 school year, Central Catholic School became part of Mother Theodore Catholic Academies of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
