Financial Donations

Catholic Charities is pleased to work with prospective donors in determining how they may wish to make a gift. Donors should consult with their own financial and tax advisors before finalizing a gift.

  • Annual Gifts:
    • The most important sources of support for Catholic Charities Indianapolis are unrestricted gifts made by individuals and by business and charitable foundations These annual gifts are applied to the most critical needs of the people we serve.
  • Pledges:
    • You may spread your gift out over a three-to-five year period.  Gifts are deductible in the year a payment is made.
  • Matching Gifts:
    • Check with your employer to find out if a matching gift program is offered.
    • Obtain your company’s matching gift application form from your human resources office.
    • Complete the first part of the application form (donor and gift information) and send it to Catholic Charities Indianapolis with your gift.
  • Marketable Securities:
    • A gift of marketable securities, which are otherwise subject to long-term capital gains, is often advantageous.  Avoid payment of capital gains tax on the increase in the value of the stock. Receive deduction for full fair market value of the stock at the time of the gift, subject to limitations.
  • Life Insurance:
    • If you have a life insurance policy that your heirs don’t need, make Catholic Charities Indianapolis the beneficiary of the policy. The policy proceeds are deductible to your estate tax purposes. You may also receive a current income tax deduction for the premiums paid by making Catholic Charities Indianapolis the owner of a policy.
  • Bequest in a Will:
    • A bequest ensures that your concerns for the poor are met in years to come. The most direct approach is to name Catholic Charities Indianapolis as a beneficiary in your will. Planned gifts include bequests, wills and the gifts of life insurance and retirement plans.
  • Planned Giving
    • there are philanthropic strategies using life income gifts that can assist retirees by providing income during retirement. Life income gifts offer flexible planning opportunities that provide income payments while meeting specific planning goals. Charitable Giving Strategies

VIP Luncheons (Very Important Programs)

Help us tell our story and stories of our clients to more people. Our VIP luncheons will be hosted by Catholic Charities Indianapolis every other month to highlight services.  The luncheons are designed to educate individuals, groups, foundations and potential donors about the work of the agency. We can also plan a special presentation during the week to groups of ten or more either at your church, workplace, other gathering spot or at one of our agency programs. Contact Valerie Sperka at vsperka@archindy.org to learn more.
