Poetry as Prayer: A Brown Bag Lunch with Fr. Jeff Godecker
Join Fr. Jeff Godecker as he gives retreatants insight into poetry as prayer. Many people do not like or understand poetry, but poetry can be a window into the Spirit and can often deepen spirituality. Fr. Jeff has presented this particular interactive talk on several occasions and many have walked away saying 'I never knew I could like poetry in this way'. Of course, he has no guarantees but bets that you will hear a poem that touches your soul!
Fr. Jeff was ordained in 1969 and has served as pastor, teacher, director of religious education for the archdiocese and chaplain at various high schools and colleges. Since 2007 he has served as the chaplain for the Butler University Catholic Community.
11:00 am - 2:00 pm, however you are welcome to stay around the retreat house until 4:00 pm for reflection and prayer.
No charge but goodwill offerings are accepted. Beverages will be served but you are encouraged to bring your own brown bag lunch!

Join Fr. Jim Farrell, pastor of St. Pius X Parish and director of Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House, as he reflects on a book written by Fr. Ed Hays who has sold over 40,000 books focusing on prayer. Fr. Jim will invite participants, as guided by Fr. Ed Hays, to pray with all of your senses, creatively and at all times. Learn how to pray with your eyes, your nose, your taste buds, your hands and your feet.

Within the context of the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, take time to "Be Still..." (psalm 46:10)
This silent directed retreat will be offered in three options of varying lengths:
- Sunday, July 15, 2012-Friday, July 20, 2012 (5-day) $360 per person
- Sunday, July 15, 2012-Thursday, July 19, 2012 (4-day) $295 per person
- Sunday, July 15, 2012-Wednesday, July 18, 2012 (3-day) $230 per person
The registration fees include accommodations, all meals/snacks, Liturgy each day and a daily meeting with a spiritual director.
The purpose of a silent retreat is to foster an atmosphere in which retreatants may be led to a personal encounter with God. In meeting with a spiritual director once each day and through the use of scripture and their own story, retreatants are offered the opportunity to deepen their relationship with God and to grow in an awareness of the Holy Spirit working in their life.
Three directors are available for this retreat: Mary Schaffner, Kathleen Sisk, and Fr. Peter Marshall.

'Messages from Our Lady of Kibeho presented by international speaker, author and Rwandan Holocaust survivor Immaculee' Ilibagiza'
We will host this event at the Cathedral High School Auditorium, doors open 6:30, presentation begins at 7:00 pm.
Author and international speaker Immaculee' Ilibagiza is a survivor of the Rwandan Holocaust. She comes to us with a powerful witness of faith and survival. Her passion for sharing the story of Our Lady of Kibeho will be the focus of her presentation. She will share the messages of the apparitions as told in her new book If Only We Had Listened, foretelling of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda which killed approximately 800,000 people. Join us for this powerful presentation! $25 per person
All proceeds from this presentation go to support the ministry of Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House. Join us and bring a friend for this very inspiring evening!
Immaculee's books will be available at the Fatima Retreat House bookstore and gift shop mid to late May. There will also be the opportunity for a book signing by Immaculee' the evening of the event.

'Retrouvaille Weekend: A Lifeline for Marriages'
Retrouvaille (pronounced retro-vi with a long i) is a French word meaning 'rediscovery'. This program offers tools needed to rediscover a loving marriage relationship. Thousands of couples headed for cold, unloving relationships or divorce have successfully overcome their marriage problems by attending the program.
Fatima Retreat House hosts two Retrouvaille weekends each year (March and August). This program is sponsored by the Archdiocesan Office of Family Ministries in conjunction with Retrouvaille Indianapolis. '7th Annual Missions Helping Missions Bazaar and Family Picnic'
Join us for this festive day which offers a unique shopping opportunity, good food and great entertainment. Shop for yourself or loved ones from vendors whose proceeds go to support various local and global missions and ministries. Approximately twenty vendors are part of this event, offering mostly hand made items from here and around the world including jewelry, clothing, art work, stationary, hand painted home decor items, and much more!
There will be more details about our vendors soon. There is no admission charge for the bazaar, however goodwill donations will be accepted for the inner city ministry of The Lord's Pantry founded by the late Lucious Newsome.
The bazaar will be open from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm with the family picnic buffet open from 12 noon until 7:00 pm. $10 per person or $30 for a family up to four. Tickets will be available at the retreat house soon and also at the door.
Southside Jazzers will again provide entertainment for us throughout the afternoon.

'Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend
Each year Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House hosts two WWME weekends. These weekends are for any married couple desiring a richer, fuller life together, helping couples to deepen and enrich the joys in marriage. The weekend gives couples a chance to examine their lives together, to share feelings, hopes, disappointments, joys, frustration and to learn to do so in an honest heart-to-heart encounter.
